Internet down due to chewed Ethernet cable

Had been losing Internet connection intermittently and then suddenly nothing. Took awhile to figure it out, but something chewed the cable between the starlink satellite and router. Ended up making a splice with what I had. After cutting the chewed section out and crimping fittings on, plugged the two ends together with an Ethernet y connector. Taped it excessively...

This same thing happened to me last spring! Idk if it was moles or armadillos but it was certainly a rascal.

Down to trench?

I should probably bury it now. Was moving it around for a while trying to find the best place to permanently setup.

Run it through some pvc pipe for some environmental protection.

Amazon has 50/100/500/1000 ft rolls of Ethernet cable for $50-$200 & you can make your own length if you want. Crimping the ends is simple

Not for Starlink - it doesn't use an RJ45 connector except for the bit you use to bypass the wifi router.

They use proprietary plugs that create a water tight seal.

wauu

So you have rabbits? My cables used to look like this when we had one.

Could definitely be a wild rabbit.

Bummer.

looks like a mower
