🟣🟠 Western Bitcoin conferences still orbit price charts and Western theory all around NGU.

But on the ground in the Middle East and Africa, #Bitcoin isn’t just a thesis anymore. It’s a resilience mean for survival.

This year at nostr:npub167n5w6cj2wseqtmk26zllc7n28uv9c4vw28k2kht206vnghe5a7stgzu3r #BTCPrague, I’ve got 30 minutes:

“Bitcoin Beyond NGU: Ground Truths from the Middle East & Africa.”

No hype. No speculation. Just field-tested stories. From the trenches.

As am prepping my presentation, I want YOUR questions:

What never gets asked on stage but should?

What do you want answered with real-world context, not theory?

If it’s relevant and I’ve lived it, I’ll include it.

And if you’re coming to #Prague, let me know!

See you there 🙏

Looking fwd! Bring your better half!⚡️

I will ;)

I’d definitely show up for your talk! I’m tired of the speculations and price talk. What I really want to hear about are real-life stories of people interacting with bitcoin. Is it (and if so, how) is it solving real problems and changing peoples lives? What can we do to spread the word to those that really need it? If you have stories about mining, that’d be interesting too!

Appreciate that. You nailed exactly why I said yes to this slot.

I’ll make sure to include concrete examples around both adoption and mining. And that last question (how do we spread it to those who actually need it) deserves more airtime than it ever gets.

Would be great to catch you in person and share more insights pls come say hi if you spot me.

I’ll catch you there! Looking forward!

Agreed! But I would like more than real-life anecdotal stories about a few people and like to see more evidence on adoption numbers. For instance I have several stories of individual friends in Zambia using BTC as inflation hedge or aspiring musicians recieving payments, but it does not seem common and the US dollar is still seen as the inflation hedge bet here in Zambia. I would love to see what percentage of Zambians are using it at all.

Thanks for the Zaps, dude

Love your work dude. Ordering some merch soon.

Nice! Appreciate that

🔥🔥🔥

How do they:

Cold storage? Backups? Anonymity/privacy/security/Wrench attacks? Inheritance planning?

On chain, lighting, e cash, tether, local fiat?

Appreciated. Fix your wallet ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Sorry, is my wallet broken?!

Wow

Congrats 🎊👏👏👏

Looking forward to your presentation!!!

I would like to know more about how people could be benefit from Bitcoin even they don’t interact with it. For example mining stabilizing the grid etc

N1 sooly looking forward to your session 🤙🏼🧡🗽

Looking fwd to seeing you my friend 🙏🏽

What are some of the least spoken about problems that bitcoin solves for people in the Middle East and Africa ?

On-chain vs. Lightning – when used and why? How many people self-custody their sats? How many node runners? How popular is Fedimint and similar tools? What HW wallet is used the most? Could Lightning raffles help with education/adoption? How do people perceive the current OP_RETURN drama?

🧡🧡

1. Is bitcoin or stables more popular among population?

2. Is lightning or on-chain being taught to newbies as step number 1?

3. Do people self custody or rely on custodians?

4. What is the dominant lightning wallet? Or top 3 maybe?

5. Is liquid a case?

6. What about cashu?

is it the other way around compared to the western world—more a medium of exchange than a store of value?

stableshitcoins have the advantages of bitcoin—plus the fake stability—without the need to change one's mindset: how do you overcome such a comparative advantage as the risks of "stables" are more long term and dollar is imo a familiar synonymum for better money there? how difficult is it to explain the principles, and how successful is it?

is it more fedi or cashu (if anyone uses any ecash ofc)?

is there any use for the waste heat from asics?

Interesting subject! A couple of questions might be:

- do we have some reliable adoption numbers and do we know what's driving adoption in the first place, i.e. do people understand how Bitcoin works and why it matters in the long run or is it more of a solution that is perceived to work for payments in the day to day?

- what countries are leading the pack and can we understand how to replicate adoption trends in other countries?

- are there leaders that understand how Bitcoin can improve their countries?

How many people do you need to be using Bitcoin until its fully circular?

Can 1.5 billion people, most with IQs below the outside temperature, maintain their own keys?

Who made the poster?

Me and my minion

Tag your minion if they’re not AI so I can zap them lol

It’s my artist gpt assistant 😂

Ahh so cool, didn’t realise you’re one of the speakers!

Which countries are the hotspots for bitcoin in Africa?

Are there areas/cities where bitcoin is widely accepted? Or is it rather smaller communities?

Is BTC used Mainly for private use cases and small businesses or also by bigger companies and B2B?

I'll see you there, bro!!

Nice! We barely had the time in vegas, let’s catch up next week!
