LN requires onchain to open a channel will we tell people to spend a 50usd tx to use LN? Also it's a hot wallet. Liquid is a federation, not the same security level as onchain or LN. And will we just tell people wanna see how awesome bitcoin is? Here's some L-BTC is that the future we want? . So in an extreme scenario, everyone would just use liquid or similar which is very centralized without affording main chain, and if no one uses main chain except big corps, who runs the nodes? Only big corps right? There goes decentralization.

if you expand the blocksize you wont have a decentralized ledger as it would require more than a poor person can invest to keep it decentralized.
when you are actively using bitcoin like on nostr the basechain is a problem. if you need confidential transactions the basechain is a problem.

You don't need poor people to run nodes, and hard-drive prices are not a big problem, hard drives and hardware will always become cheaper in time, what poor people need is access to bitcoin, not nodes. And if fees get too high, we all get to be the poor people that hey we might not ever use onchain but I can run a node to protect someone else's transactions.
