Riiiiight. Divert. 
Depending on the particular political topic, I have found it easy to segway toward corporate corruption, where nearly everyone can agree. However, some folks are dead-set on pushing their message with anger toward the listener. I mark them off my list of people to engage with.
Meh. I don’t care either way to be honest. I care about very few opinions outside my trusted circle. Very few.
