I have a raspberry 4 but not experience with Linux 🫤.
I think I would find a way with videos etc.
I don't think that is the best way to run it on an old laptop, better (with a more bitcoin-ethos) on a raspberry or buy the node directly from them.

For me was easier with Raspberry.
I can send you a shopping list for this.
The main difference is that the hole node works totally independently.
In case of the laptop, it must always be on and I don't like this
what about umbrel? I must have the pc on forever also?? I am not familiar with raspberry 🫤. If it not so technical the list would be great (to have an idea)
As far as I know, PC has to be on all this time, otherwise every time you close it the synchronization will stop.
It is really easy to set up Umbrel on raspberry.
