When I went through boot camp in 1990 if you were not of sufficient physical shape to make the cut, you were shamed out by the CC (company commanders) by them shouting and calling you names that would literally break traditional media outlets if it were to happen today.

One of my life long professional mentors coming out of the Navy was USCG retired. Still friends today. Lives in FL now but originally from Ohio.
I actually loved boot camp. It was savage. My CC would run us every Sunday until everyone fell out, and he’d be running backwards smoking a cigar yelling slurs at us the whole time like it was nothing.
There was no chance in hell I was letting him down or showing weakness

One from Chicago and the other from boondocks Alabama. Their particular brand of hate for a New Yorkers combined was like nothing I've ever seen to that point or since.
