Even if you were fully self-sufficient, you’d likely face looters and organized groups attempting to take over your food supply. Not sure any one person would be able to stop that. nostr:note1w67xlrq2fxch0d3s37hn40khugpma3gd0ywy4prdtlrk69cg4rysvwxyv2

Impossible. The only way would be to hide…….and I doubt there are many people left who have the skills to survive, support a family, in a place that no one could find.

The whole lone wolf mentality is a foolish myth.

Yeah, one person has to sleep sometime. Even two is not enough. Five, though, with decent planning, skill, tools, and philosophy can end a credible threat by thirty unless they have significantly superior tools.

Solution: be a part of a militia 🤣

That's exactly right. But this isn't the only use for militias. I register with a volunteer service in my state to provide my medical skills during disasters, for example. I think the modern militia man has multiple skills beyond fighting. The militia mentality from my perspective is to restore and maintain order during disaster. If that involves rifles, so be it. But the goal is always peace and cooperation for me and my peeps.

Indeed!

Raiders would come

I'm thinking of a future where individuals can 3d print shotgun equipped arial drones and buy a couple of those robot dogs with the chainsaw faces. The pendulum of defense might be swinging back towards the pleb farmer.....although I'm probably a hundred years off from the star wars droid type of assistance I'm referring to.

This is why it's important to build a like-minded community before a disaster. The people in mine are so heavily armed that I truly feel for the poor bastards who try us.

And trained.

Depends on the timeframe. We can survive for weeks without food but most people have rarely ever had more than 8h between meals.

Buy the dip!
