Seed

It's a custodial wallet, bud. They hold the keys

Gotcha thanks

I think their Bitcoin wallet allows you to backup your seed phrase

But it's on chain, no lightning

They do allow you access to your seed words. I think it's an okay wallet for spending, but it's a hot wallet connected to the Internet. Even though it's non custodial and you control the keys. It is still a wallet that you have to access while connected to the Internet.

Thanks

Seed phrase means you have the keys and they can't rug you

Maybe they can't but that doesn't mean you can't rug yourself with a compromised device or network connection.

True! Always the risk with hot wallets

Strike is a good wallet to use until you have enough in there that warrants a withdrawal to cold storage. Maybe that's 1M sats. You can also use it as a general spending wallet/hot wallet too.

Any harm in moving your #btc from strike to proton wallet rather than cold storage? 🤔

And its fast and allows lighning transactions skips fees and slick design

Lol what key

Strike is custodial solution. Not your keys, not your coins. The good thing about strike is they are encouraging you to withdraw to your own cold wallet.

I use it for DCA (dollar cost averaging) and not long ago they introduced a neat feature "auto withdrawals". When you reach certain amount (0.01₿ is minimum) the funds will be sent to your cold storage without fees.

For me, KYC is not a biggie. I love airports 🪂 especially over water.
