If you do catch a skunk, maybe approach with some ordorous food? It might be too curious to think you're a lethal threat. They usually don't spray unless they're really freaked out.

I’ve used a tarp before to cover the trap and let the skunk chill out for a bit before moving. If I do catch one I probably won’t relocate this time, and just let it go. It hasn’t been as much of a nuisance as the others have been.
