I wouldn’t even test on a windows device 😂 quit my last job, not kidding, because it was a pc given to me as my work laptop.

i wouldn’t blame you

😹 gotta catch them all

Does this mean a non-webapp desktop client that doesn't suck is on its way?

My condolences

Even deeper condolences if was bricked today by the crowdstrike bug

I really hope new windows laptops don’t have that pre installed 😅

It’s much worse than that

how do you install an os?

you may need a different strategy long term... may I suggest you build a testing community.

I’m at the stage where i know it doesn’t even work on windows. I need to get it running before testing can happen.

can you just share your learning about why non-web matters more than web?

performance mostly. the web is not good at multithreading or fast, custom local databases, both which notedeck utilizes extensively to hit 144+ fps and full note validation on low performance devices. (see nostrdb for on how this works)

Fast local dbs also allows you to store lots of local notes for private search and client-local algos.

what about wasm? does that not fit here?

wasm has all the same restrictions. Its a sandboxed environment that does not have access to virtual memory or threading, which again, we use extensively for performance

What kind of spooky timing is this… 😂 broken windows 10 update takes down the globe. All flights grounded. National outages.
