I've applied The scientific method to developing welding procedures for joining and hard facing exotic alloys within the allowable parameters of the applicable welding standards. These procedures are currently being used on components for both submarines and spacecrafts. But no, I don't have a degree. So I guess I'm not a "scientist". Just a dumb welder...
