Idk about NFTs but inscribing things on Bitcoin will be important.

Not the stupid pictures

Yea I don’t care about owning an image onchain. But preserving data onchain will likely be very important especially as it gets more

Expensive.

Been thinking about this intersection with estate planning. Terms of Wills or TODs could just be inscribed into the stack you are transferring at death.

Why you need to do it onchain ?

I don’t know honestly haha I’m just thinking out loud. It could potentially be used to settle disputes over a will. A lot of wills just use vague language like “i leave my digital assets to…” and many lawyers aren’t up to speed on the significance of what that actually means. Digital assets encompasses everything from bitcoin to your twitter account, so if you want your bitcoin separated from the rest of your digital assets, this could be one way to evidence that you intended your bitcoin to go to someone separately than your digital assets. Someone could easily argue that having “digital assets” go to one person and bitcoin to another are inconsistent terms in a will, opening it up to dispute over what was actually intended.

You don’t need onchain for that! You can do it on L2 for example on RGB 🤷‍♂️

Welp, I’ve never heard of RGB so time to go research

There are many things that can be developed without even touching blockchain! nostr is a good example!

P.S. here is RGB stuff https://github.com/RGB-WG

I know, I’m just spitballing about a possibility since it’s an option that now exists

Nah! Doesn’t make any sense doing it onchain

If it’s important enough it will.

You can store Cad files for 3D printable weapons.

You can store the Cypherpunk manifesto.

You can store the Tank Man image + wiki page of the event.

You can store (as #[4] would say) real journlist’s work in there.

Note, I hate NFTs on Bitcoin, but this has undeniable utility (hate using that word🤢🤮) for Freedom and human flourishing around the world

Putting silly jpegs on the blockchain is fucking retarded, but there are plenty of good use cases for ordinals. I talked to one guy who's company is signing their software certificates that way. You could put an entire state or country's real estate deed registry on the blockchain.

I made a letter (jpeg background) to my Son for when he is older and I am dead. Not even my evil ex-wife can stop the message. I would like to be able to have it in delivered in 30 years or so to an address he will watch in the future. Doesnt feel scammy
