I tend to think it has an objective component too that’s just harder to determine when you manipulate money the very thing you use to measure value. Assuming we are talking about anything the world doesn’t consider priceless. (But then again, money helps there too by telling you “I can’t measure this.”)
I actually don't think money has a whole lot to do with it at all. If we had no medium of exchange value would still be subjective. The only difference is, instead of spending your dollars or your Bitcoin you would barter your homemade jams and jellies when you go to buy a bag of dicks from "Richard's emporium". But what you value the bag of dicks, The jams and jellies, or the Bitcoin is going to differ from me. Value is the individual subjective opinion of The importance of one thing over another. It can only be measured by, (yes, I'm going to say it)- HUMAN ACTION.
