Do you mean SimpleX Chat? Is it better than RetroShare? RetroShare seems to be super-extreme about privacy but it's hard to find peers to "bootstrap" it.
There's also matrix.org but it has spam issues.
Synapse and Dendrite are also rather resource hungry, especially when crawling a backlog of messages. Been running my own instance for good two years now. I like it, but if you join some of the biggest channels on matrix.org itself, you'll hear your server - and uplink - scream like never before XD
