We thought new live streams hosted by the people you follow were notification worthy, but so many of our users disagree!
We are going to disable these notifications for now, and add the option to re-enable them in a future update.

I like them, however the issue I’m seeing with them is that they still show in the notifications tab even after you disable live stream notifications for someone.
Can you provide an example of a user you are still seeing notifications for even after disabling?
Most recently it happened with a couple days ago when nostr:nprofile1qqsx8lnrrrw9skpulctgzruxm5y7rzlaw64tcf9qpqww9pt0xvzsfmgprfmhxue69uhhq7tjv9kkjepwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hszxthwden5te0wfjkccte9eekummjwsh8xmmrd9skctcu5gajv was streaming. I got multiple notifications like this even though I had them turned off for his streams. It didn’t show that he was streaming on my main feed, but these notifications kept showing on my notifications page.

all notifications should be opt in

yeah just hide it behind a setting. i wouldn't mind it for streams like nostr:nprofile1qyv8wumn8ghj7urjv4kkjatd9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wsq3kamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwvf5hgcm0d9h8qctjdvhxxmmdqqs879mhq6kkuzh2wk57xdzanl76uem8d7hlyjd7v4a4jcm4u88d8ygjaraye but some folks are kind of abusing the front-and-center nature of the notification.

Why don't you make them optional? The user should pick for themselves, but the default should be off
I think if we could enable notifications on an individual npub basis it would be good. But just a blanket yes on every stream with no way to turn that off...
