Guys, PLEASE, stop promoting the use of fiat! Bitcoin only.

By going to a merchant with a VISA card is literally invitation to never accept Bitcoin. We should the way around, not going back to fiat.

You are absolutely right, I agree with you, in an ideal world there would be no need for such services.

But if you tell the shopkeeper that the Bitcoins he accepts he can spend in fiat, I think he is also more enticed to accept them as a form of savings.

It blows my mind how fast people forget why we are here... to fuck all those intermediaries.

Yet people are still going back to fiat LOL

Again, I agree with you but the adoption of Bitcoin needs a transitional period where people have the opportunity to use both currencies, it is not all black and white, unfortunately we are still at the stage of shades of gray.

After 15 years of Bitcoinlandia is time to take drastic measures and stop using Fiat.

That "gray" period was over once LN came out.

Nowadays we have so many tools, solutions, wallet apps etc that there's NO EXCUSE not to accept Bitcoin as a merchant.

Yet we have users that go to the merchant with a fucking VISA card and then complain why there are not so many shops accepting BTC.

LOL don't you see the stupid paradigm?

You will never escape from the fiat slavery if you never cut the crap and say enough is enough.

You are right, I am still a slave to the mortgage I have to pay on my house, a slave to a job in fiat that takes time away from my paintings which fortunately I am able to sell in bitcoin, but unfortunately I cannot go all in on bitcoin, I have people for whom I am responsible to whom I will leave my savings in bitcoin though.

More than that I cannot do.

If you accept Bitcoin, you are faced with the decision to price in Bitcoin or your local fiat (or some other fiat). If you price in Bitcoin, the potential mid-term upside is huge, but the short-term downside can wipe you out and your customers will be angry at what they view as inflated prices. Also, your prices will be highly volatile against the currency that your customers hold.

You also need to have a wide profit margin to even benefit from Bitcoin transactions because your suppliers probably won't take it, so you have to cover the conversion cost. And then there's the task risk and compliance costs.

Yeah, really not easy. Probably lose money with it.

*tax risk

I really don't give a shit about taxes because I do not pay taxes.

Only slaves pay taxes.

food, utilities, etc? i don't know your sit. but taxes are broadbased in most econ..

all that garbage salad words sounds like fiat mindset.

You are not a serious person.

yeah sure, saying that I do not pay taxes it means I am not a "serious person".

1. I am not a person (aka corporation), I am a living man. Living men do not pay taxes.

2. I am always right

trade offs, but i know sum dudes & 1 Korean lady doing well & have seen a pick uP in %

Yea and the important thing to remember here is that this is so people who are living a Bitcoin standard can still engage with the world without having to jump through a thousand loops.

Eventually more and more shopkeepers will request bitcoin over fiat because they too are running a btc standard. Until then we bitcoiners are just crazy people yelling at store owners for not accepting bitcoin in their stores.

We should build solutions to help shops taking your sats directly not going back to fiat.

Building fiat rails is NOT the solution!

But those already exist, no? We have nostr:npub1musqetp57matzsjcwd2y7tvxe59h85v74pqasnqxk7fhpwazzjpseyv5kr we have btcpay server. Shops simply don't know the power of bitcoin yet, but they are getting there. I think when shops start seeing bitcoiners use Bitcoin right in front of them eventually the curiosity will get them!

For people that already live on a Bitcoin standard, this is the only way at this point where you can actually spend sats in most vendors. Unless you know another.
