Nostr Web Client

I had a read of the Signal architecture. It would be great if someone figured out how to swap the Signal delivery server with a nostr relay server.

As for #safebox, I’m looking to see if I can just bolt in MLS as being proposed by Jeff G. Don’t have any solid ideas yet.

For now Id prefer to keep the Signal server so I can receive with the mobile app Im already using.

Yep, I agree with you. I’m a big fan of Signal and don’t want to see it go any time soon. Inspired by their messaging and most are not aware of the server infrastructure in the background. It’s a model to be inspired by!

whoa wait... its not possible to self-host Signal in a way that is compatible with the rest of Signal users, is it?

It could be. I don’t understand the architecture well enough yet, but I see the vision. Someone will come up with Signal for npubs or NIP-05 so eventually everyone can decouple from their phone no.
