Part of adoption is easy access and exposure. Installing an app on rokus is easy. Roku has payment methods that interact with apps. I would use Fountain.fm, wavlake party mode, and nostr video (like flare.pub) on a smart tv. Restaurants and bars might too

Also, an idea doesn’t need to be bad or childish to be deprioritized. He can set his own schedule I am not deboss I am debased

there is 1.5 billion people in China and all they do is make garbage to pollute the planet with.

they are only able to do so because fools like you continue buying the trash they make.

and it is my job to stop you.

you should be grateful i am attempting to speak to you as if you were an intelligent adult.

others on my philosophical level like Klaus Schwab will treat you as the child / slave / cattle you are.

they will simply BAN YOU from buying things you don't need. whereas i am merely INFORMING you that you don't need them.

what you're basically telling me is that i am WRONG for giving you the benefit of the doubt and that the approach used by Klaus Schwab is the ONLY one that works on your kind.

😃

We appreciate your time and dedication

as i explained to you ROKU is not smart TV. it is trash TV. watch any expert shootout of TVs - only Sony and Samsung TVs ever win them and neither use ROKU. only Cheap Chinese Walmart brand TVs use Roku.

also with Samsung mobile devices you can use a USB-C to HDMI adapter and run a desktop mode on a TV, even if your TV is 100% dumb. make sure your adapter also includes a USB port to plug power in so the phone battery doesn't die. mine is made by "vava" and also has headphone jack and other things.

i told you i own a Roku but never use it because it's a joke. i don't even know where it is.

It’s true that there are better holistic solutions. If it’s difficult to make a Roku player it may not be worth pursuing and I see your position and point. It seems like Roku apps are straightforward to build and maintain compared to mobile apps (I could be completely wrong there, they just seem like simple apps that don’t update often).

There are 80 million active Roku users as of 23Q4, and you’d be one of ten installed apps on the device for most people. That’s a decent surface area for engagement on a platform where every app has purchases.

OK so 80 million Roku users and 3 BILLION android users ...

I wonder what the disposable income metrics of those 80 million rokus vs the 3 billion androids are

ROKU: for poor old people who can't afford cable or a new TV set and too stupid to use an interface more complicated than TV remote.

do you know what 80 million is ? 60 mil live within 60 mile radius of Shanghai. 80 million is nothing.

that said, i am shocked it is growing. my cousin got it like 10 years ago and i figured my grandma is as stupid as him so i got one for her then.

crazy people still use it.

🤷 it works. agreed on scale of the numbers.
