I have an actual walking stick now yes.
That's in addition to The 2 I was attempting to make from a fallen branch of my avocado tree, 1 rafiki staff I'm making/decorating from my cutie orange tree, 1 welcome to my room post with evil eyes adorned in a dream catcher from the same future orange tree, and 4 Wanda in different sizes for different purposes from my now dead and gone peach tree.🤷🏽
Oh! And I inherited my grandpa's wood carved pipes and his fighting cane!
is your grandpa's name Lee by chance ?
there was a great book written about him and his cane...
His middle name was Lee🤷🏽
My grandpa was a badass. My favorite relative. This is a picture of him from Father's Day last year the day before he died. He was an undercover cop in the 60s busting hippies doing acid pretending to be a dealer and what not. Growing up we would go on vacations to cool crazy places like chichenitza Jamaica, and maui, but instead of going to the nice parts he'd take me to the seediest bars and places and be like "ok just act normal. Don't do this don't do that. Let's go see what the real place is like"
And sometimes I'd have to pretend he wasn't my grandpa, he'd just so happen to meet up with someone he busted and I had to go skiing with a fake name and all this. He was just a rad badass.

they dont make em like they used to...

My wands. They're all perfect for their purpose, and peach wood is love.

My staffs/posts are all projects for another day

Avocado wood still drying out.

You can see why these are perfect as a sign post and a rafiki staff

That's awesome thanks for sharing. I also inherited a passion for woodworking from my grandfather. He liked to make things for us grandkids and I hope to do the same for mine one day.
I don't think my grandpa worked these. But he had a knack for defense and practicality.
My love for making these tools I think came from my mom and her native American influence🤷🏽 the nature and spirit within things.
I’ve started a cane and a walking stick over the past year or so, haven’t gotten to oiling them/putting a tip on em. But I like them so far for very amateurish attempts.
Your collection is amazing. I love it.
Also never thought #stickstr would be on Nostr lol
I really kind of like the natural look on the 2 that are orange branches. I'm leaving then was they are.
As for my wands the 2 thicker ones ended up real nice and what I did for that... Well besides my own wandmaking ceremony which was the whole process of making it,
Part included hand massaging wax into them. Like the heat of my hands. I think they turned out amazing!

Yes! The natural look is awesome.
What kind of wax did you use?
Tea lights from Amazon
