Sunday Rant:

To those who complain about UX, you clearly never been part of a software development project. Good UX takes so much time to build and get right after thousands of iterations.

“Just make it simpler” isn’t always as simple as it looks. Some of this simplest things can take days to get perfect.

Just saying dont give up on nostr because you think its “bad UX” and say “LN sucks” that will come in months and years to come. You are an early adopter be proud of it. Dont shy away from it. Test and break things. Find bugs. Tag devs with your feedback. Makes their lives so much easier as they can they can prioritise their development tasks better.

If you see newbie make them aware of how software development works before they decided to leave. For someone reason people have this weird belief that Twitter and Facebook were perfect from day 1.

Rant over.

For example: @Damus please add spell check for writing posts. Im a lazy reader and terrible writer who relies on spell check for my everyday life. 😂

Understood.

I thought it’d be annoying to leave feedback because I may not know what I’m saying but I will now! Aaannddd make sure the feedback I give is constructive. We are all learning and growing.

Rant appreciated 💜💫

Thanks for tip 🧡. I had couple of people complain to me about their Nostr experience so thought I would tell others publicly.

There are also many different Nostr clients so if you don’t like the UX with one there are others alternative that you may prefer.

The UX is good and, as you say, getting better.

They obviously don't understand what's being built.

We don't need negative nancies on here.

I guess we need to do all try do a better job explaining them the “Why Nostr” pitch.

Guess so. I've been working in social media before it was called social media. I saw it go from full of promise to full of hate-filled bile. There's a lot at stake here.

I've lost my follow list twice now, having to re-add everyone I followed. My app keeps crashing. But I'm still here, for the signal. Wouldn't miss it and I'm glad to be a part of building this. 🤙

Yeh that happened to me in December time when I first joined the running bird protocol. It’s all about the journey at the end of the day.

What relay are you using? Try hosting your own private one to save your list

A few paid ones (milou, puravida, orangepill) and then the standard damus, etc.

That's a good idea. I might look into running my own private relay.
