Do you realize that having this inbound liquidity means that your lighning partner has to lock up quarter of bitcoin, which then cannot be used for anything else? You should expect him to close the channel if it's just sitting somewhere on an old phone unused.
You are not supposed to build up inbound liquidity over time.
You have a year to use it then it automatically expires
Also, Phoenix closed the channel not me
So they promissed not go close it for a year, but did anyway because of the conflict between two instances? Makes sense to be a bit upset 😅.
But I still wonder why you need so much inbound liqudity.
It would make sense only if you are a routing node (which you are not with Phoenix) or if you are a merchant with relatively large volumes of money.

Right, because you use your onchain bitcoin to create the channel, and then send it through the channel somewhere. At that moment the balance of the channel shifts to your channel partner (Phoenix). The it sits there locked untill the channel closes. From their point of view, they have locked a large sum of bitcoin, waiting there for you to receive. But you never do, I assume. It sits there for nothing.
