Idk anybody that has touched the base layer that isn’t addicted. My problem is with the people that can’t tell the difference between leaving bitcoin on an exchange and ppl that actually have have their own keys.

I think that even if you have your own keys, there is still some risk.. At some point you need to connect to the Bitcoin highway, and that on-ramp is connected.. But, cold storage is the way to go.
That’s pretty much the point I was trying to make but I’d accept a non custodial hot wallet if they aren’t starting big
