How on earth did nostr even work without nsec.app?
Discussion
extension works ok
Not on iOS or Android though!
yeah I always just make a new npub on those
What about Nostore?

Wdym? It works fine for a long time with nos2x on kiwi or lemur and mobile termux > nak bunker to all that supports it.
Tried it. Nostrudel wonβt accept the nsecbunker URIs it generates. π€·ββοΈ
I love the concept,π but I tried it on my Pixel 7a running Graphene and it hangs indefinitely spinning at the point where I try to import my password protected nsec...π’
There is no support for password protected nsec import yet, plus graphene likely to have other issues - this thing need web push notifications to work properly, not sure if those work on graphene.
So I just tried again, and it says "Please fill out all fields" in red when I try to procede without entering a password...π
OK, I tried one more time following a simple "Login" path. I entered only my npub and my nsec...
This time, I got a red "Something went wrong" message...π€
I like the idea but it looks to me like it's storing an nsec in local storage in the browser. What's the difference between this and using a web client? Am I missing something obvious? Is it just trusting one site vs many?

The difference is using one website vs many, proper controls of what each site can do, e2ee encrypted key sync btw devices, coming soon 2fa, etc. A product focused on managing your nsec the best way it can.
Thank you for the huge zap!
You store it in one page that doesn't interact much with anything βΒ compared to storing your nsec on many pages that load content from all over the place and could have many many vulnverabilities.
Like using a password manager.
Amber and Amethyst have been running smoothly for a while now. I prefer it over nsec.app for that particular combo.
