I ordered this book earlier this week, The Sovereign Child, look forward to reading it.
Discussion
I'm about 1/3 of the way through the discussion, and I've found it very interesting and insightful. At the same time, very extreme.
I can't help but think that if I let my children sit in front of a screen for 8 hours a day, eat whatever they want, and remain stationary, that I wouldn't be doing them any favours!
In moderation, right?! It’s hard to say exactly what is “best” but I certainly relate to some points. I had recently changed my own behavior where my kids (2 boys) would be fighting, I used to intervene, but more recently I let them go. I feel that they are defining boundaries this way. Fighting and wrestling are part of a natural play, as long as it’s not out of pure anger or spite. I struggle in other areas for sure and try to “govern” their behavior, but this is giving me a new perspective.
