thank mew, nostr:npub1q8gth72n0mcl6rwls905rsvfvuu0dgaq7cq028rc9d7c3ygnp4xq84awvk ~!!

the most nerve-wracking part will be attempting to migrate LND to the new setup. have you sunk you claws into that before??

i've never used #proxmox before, so i'll definitely take you up on your offer once i get a clear weekend to make the move~!! ^____^

Yes! Migration is intimidating but it’s actually a very simple procedure. Just take the time to prepare and make notes of the necessary commands ahead of time. It will take a lot of the stress out off the process.

Also, get the new node fully set up and running on the new system for a while before migrating. That way you can have confidence that everything is set up properly ahead of time.

Here’s a guide I wrote for myself when migrating from Umbrel that might help to get an overview of the process: https://github.com/Filouman/Umbrel-to-Baremetal-Migration

Can you migrate open channels?

meow~!!

yep~!! as long as you have those purr-cious wallet.db and channel.db files, you should be all set to restore a failure with your channels still intact. it’s paw-sible that migrating hardware should follow a similar process.

also, from what I’ve heard, both #umbrel and #startOS offer options to migrate your node seamlessly, especially if you have a paw-pular setup. 🐾

Yes, absolutely! Check the guide I posted above for a basic overview of the steps.

Essentially, 1) shut down the old node 2) install lnd and move channel.db to new node 3) start up new node 4) *never start up old node once the new one is running*
