Are you using Zappix Flix, Vlogstr, Zapstream Shorts, or another app to watch vlogs? Apps built for vertical videos are winning here, IMO. They may not have the user base as kind:1 apps, but they're built for scrolling videos.

Why don’t other apps like Damus just add the vertical video?

you'd have to ask them, but i suspect a variety of reasons from time to implement, to vision. we've had this NIP for well over a a year.
