I drive for a fancy car service with higher end clientele, so I see the exact same thing as that Uber driver. Though I don't make that much and it's probably not as extreme where I live compared to NYC.

Still though, the distortion of the money we live under also distorts minds. It's impossible to really know the true value of things.

Sometimes I encounter wealthier people that get it. I drove a 70ish yo engineer just yesterday and we talked about the system and he immediately knew what I was talking about. It was like we were on the exact same page about it all. It was quite refreshing.
