Rumble's behind Cloudflare now... And I'm getting blocked of course....

Ah for fuck sake dude. I'll delete my Premium then because I know it's coming for me too.
Well, you may be doing something even more paranoid than me, but still 😂 On principle, my friend. 🫡
I have to cancel my premium as well :( I just learned last night.
I'm not encouraging anyone do any boycott here, but once again -another service, which I pay for, and have never abused, requires java script and fingerprinting software (cloudflare) to access their services.
I hear you, but there's no point in staying on the ride if they're just going to become YouTube anyway. Might as well rip the bandage off while it's small and less painful.
Are you blocking JS entirely? I haven't seen this yet.
No, just anti-fingerprinting, and VPN (to my own VPS servers). Cloudflare won't let anything by without JS.
I wonder what the difference is because I have my browser set to block fingerprinting and use a VPN. I wonder if it's because I don't use my own VPS for VPN
Yeah I have 2 proton profiles and 2 vps profiles I swap between. CF blocks them most of the time. I also use ublock origin with some custom blocking rules and Chameleon extension to spoof some things. I read and confirmed sometimes setting the user-agent to FireFox > 130 on Linux gets CF to cooperate, other times the fingerprint captia just reloads.
😑
Rumble is such a shit show. Shitty tech stack, shitty software, shitty UX.
Grayjay might be able to help you out. Their plugins are quite resistent to the video hoster’s shenanigans.

I wish they could have found interest in nostr. No just another entity hosting another service. I have a feeling they're not proxying connections, so I can almost guarantee they aren't getting around youtube and rumble video endpoint protections. I use pinchflat for youtube (yt-dl based app) but that has restrictions.
As far as the tech goes, I don't really care, every SaaS platform sucks unless you were the one that invented it. I just respect the effort involved in the competition. Naturally I'd like to see services not be just another centralized entity at this point as a nostr dev/user.
Yeah, I wish FUTO would settle for nostr instead of trying their own. Imagine setting up a new Android device without having to worry about your app preferences (Grayjay, FUTO Keyboard, etc) having to be synced/imported somehow when you could store it on nostr instead and pull them from a relay of your choice after signing into your account.
