Another user complaining about Amethyst's built-in censorship which is basically Vitor shadow-banning users by default.

It was very effective against the reply guy, but it harmed many users who have no connection to that.

I don't know if there will be any updates regarding this, but it's quite unusual: being censored on a platform that's supposed to be "uncensorable."

How did it harm other users? I'm asking because I really don't know and am just trying to learn more about that. I don't miss Reply Guy at all though, if I'm honest.

Vitor basically shadowbanning people automatically if they were considered "spammy" and no chance of forgiveness

There is a blocking tool in Amethyst that I used to block Reply Guy in a different profile, which worked. To my knowledge, only Reply Guy was blocked. Is that what you're referring to, or was it something Vitor did on the coding side of things?

probably different?

I posted what his algorithm considered as SPAM. I was testing something. Can't even remember.... now I am fucked 4 life

Okay, I see what you're getting at. Well... you could try another client maybe?

Some users are being automatically blocked when you visit their profile, as far as I know, this is happening exclusively on Amethyst.

This has happened before, but when there was a spam attack with copied messages (the reply guy), it got worse and affected many other normal profiles here, including Verita84, and it still hasn't been resolved.

Wow something got jacked somehow. But I don't think Vitor was trying to censor beyond the Reply Guy spam, even though that might have unintentionally happened. It will work out eventually. 🙂

No, it will not work out until everyone complains.

He told me to delete the posts. well, no idea wtf I was doing months ago

That makes sense. I see what's happening now. Deleting the posts would be the only way others can find you on Amethyst. And that's if you can actually delete them. Maybe since it's an Amethyst thing, Amethyst would consider them deleted even if other clients still show them. Maybe if you had a keyword to search for you could find the posts. Just an idea. 🤔

I remember vitor saying something along the lines if you post multiple posts of the same content your profile would be considered spammy and then you would have to click on sensitive content or something strange. I thought this idea was dumb.

The client should not be marking profiles as spam. The relays shouldn't either. The relays should just do their job and delete spam.

I disabled the filters on the app. I haven't seen any issues or censoring yet. I'd like to see what they mean. I'm gonna keep my eye on it.

If you were on other platforms you would of been banned already. I don't agree with most of what you post but no one should censor you.

Let's see where thia all goes.
