This is generally what choosing status over truth looks like. It's just doing the easy thing & going along to get along.
But it eventually leads to very hard times.

If status means family, then off we go with whatever keeps US together. Agreed on the weak men create hard times. I believe there's culture building and then there's the here and now. Live in both.
Sacrificing truth & reality with family as the excuse is like selling your kids into future slavery to protect your own comfort right now, while claiming your kids are your real concern.
It’s most of us honestly🪞. It gets easier as we age.
