Will you use open source freedom tech by its own merits or will you deprive yourself of it based on some larp moralist purity test about who made what and what do they think about the latest political issue?

TOR has always been compromised to some degree, not because of it's origins, but because anyone can run a node, and there are adversarial exit nodes in the network.

Still use it occasionally. Very cautiously. I2P looks promising as an alternative but I haven't messed with it much yet. Most of the 'dark web' still uses TOR.

Tor has been compromised on occasion but my OP was not about TOR, it's about the irrelevance of free software provenance.
