Agreed. We've got Groups (Coracle, Nostrudel, etc) and Communities (Satellite.Earth) and neither implementation is fleshed out well enough as they sit.
Hope folks with passion in this area Voltron together to develop something. I know there are tons of Bitcoin Meetups that use Meetup, Discord, Telegram, Facebook, etc. and would probably love to use a fully-featured nostr implementation.
