Dude has the audacity to accept zaps and say Lightning is not Bitcoin at the same time.
I was critical until I spent the time to learn about Nodes and channels and how Phoenix is legit in that it will force close channels if needed to settle to L1 etc.

His initial post was in response to Marce discussing that bitcoin isn’t a luxury for most people in the global south. It’s a necessity. So I don’t have patience for that bs.
Will try to be more tolerant. But I know too many people that lost a lot because of shitcoin and affinity scams 🤙 💜
100%. I think the narrative was/is a cheap way to try and denigrate Bitcoin so that other bad alt coins could be hyped up.
The whole "It doesn't scale" is a quasi-legit issue but Lightning does meet all of the cryptography tests that Bitcoin does - because under the hood, it IS Bitcoin.
And Bitcoin remains the hardest, most battle tested, decentralized, secure public blockchain.
But Lightning is complicated for the average person. Like, really complicated. So it's not yet a great solution for scaling. But it's being developed.
Anyways. I agree with your first sentiment and also your response. Hah. Both are legit.
