This is why retirement account money is less desirable. I wanted to buy bitcoin IOUs via etf at the sub-100k price but I couldn’t.

I’m in the same boat for that trapped cash. IRA’s are a double edged sword.

That said, ETFs are better than not having any bitcoin exposure for those funds. But I’m done with retirement accounts. Emergency backup and trading only. I’ll scratch my itch to sell with next bubble by doing it with government retirement account money. If I lose, at least government loses too :)

Strong plan. Retirement accounts are low hanging fruit for Govt shenanigans too. Getting it out quickly is on my radar as well. 2026 💥

If I contribute more to an ira, it’ll be a bitcoin ira with non-private self custody.

Yup. Unchained on my radar. But there are others. And I think the big players get involved soon (Fidelity).
