They kept buying.

Thank Henry Kissinger.

Good times create weak humans.

Hard times create strong humans.

🤷‍♂️

Heavy was the world’s reserve currency crown.

That's what happens when your most valueable export is fiat currency

Also good place to start:

The 1979 visit of Deng Xiaoping to the US was followed in June 1980 by the equally significant encounter in Wall Street of Rong Yiren, chairman of CITIC, and David Rockefeller. The meeting, held in the penthouse of the Chase Manhattan Bank complex, was attended by senior executives of close to 300 major US corporations. A major agreement was reached between Chase, CITIC, and the Bank of China, involving the exchange of specialists and technical personnel to "identify and define those areas of the Chinese economy most susceptible to American technology and capital infusion."

It's called "Freedom". Let it ring!

Result of a FIAT driven consumer driven economy. On a bitcoin standard quality matter and cheap consumerism dies.

not all things made in China are bad or of poor quality

if I want to buy a pair of chopsticks, I sure as fuck hope they aren't being made in America

everything has its place. america is transitioning to an information based economy

oh 10000%, i primarily meant american brands and corporations. i’ll tell you one thing my 2008 hyundai is a beast and never breaks down no matter what. so many good Chinese brands.

agreed. I miss when most jeans were made in USA

the denim quality was A1. i do invest in jeans made in the usa, but there’s not a lot of modern brands that do it :/

i remember working at a levi’s store and the quality of their jeans was so awful and cheap :/
