https://fevela.me/ now supports https://github.com/dtonon/fevela/pull/40, which is better than blurhash. https://evanw.github.io/thumbhash/

You can see it in action on nostr:npub1e49nhp86q24g66jp9wahzmerv79dum8y4dpv4dt0snvjwlkynf4qnzsm0m if your eyes are faster than your internet.

(Or throttle the connection speed in your browser devtools network panel, this was a good idea.)

Actually after browsing through a feed of blurhashes (on Jumble) and a feed of thumbhashes I've changed my mind, I think the difference is absurd and thumbhash is not only slightly better, it's astronomically better.

nostr:npub1syjmjy0dp62dhccq3g97fr87tngvpvzey08llyt6ul58m2zqpzps9wf6wl would you add it to Jumble? nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s please jump in the bandwagon too! nostr:npub1n0sturny6w9zn2wwexju3m6asu7zh7jnv2jt2kx6tlmfhs7thq0qnflahe? nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z? nostr:npub1cesrkrcuelkxyhvupzm48e8hwn4005w0ya5jyvf9kh75mfegqx0q4kt37c? nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q?

More thumbhash on profile pictures. Less robots or stupid pre sets :)

very good point

there could be an imeta tag on kind 0

Absolutely!

In my to-do list there is a NIP-05 update about this.

Nice!

yeah thumbhash didn't exist when i did the blurhash thing. would be happy to switch

I don't understand the point. It's not that thumb hash shows anything extra anyway. They are just blurred colors that are not a good representative of the image anyway.

Yes, but prettier.

my eyes must be broken because I can’t tell which is which from those videos

Same here. Old men can't recognize the difference.

Colour of the trending topic?

I hadn't heard of fevela before, just took a look, feels pretty nice! Love the slim UX.

I host a public relay so this is a nice way to monitor its notes.

It was working fine for a few minutes, but now I keep getting empty feeds (for all relays/anywhere it tries to load a feed) with this error whenever I try to reload feeds:

Weird, I always browse relays and never seen that issue. Is that on desktop or on a phone?

If it's on a desktop please try https://jumble.social/ and see if the issue also appears there and let me know, please.

If it's on a phone then abandon the web and try the nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q native app (install from app stores) as it has a very nice relay browsing capabilities.

I'm trying on desktop, and jumble seems to be doing the same. Strangely enough, my own relay is definitely up and working, but nostr.watch also seems unable to reach it (along with every other relay on the list).

Wonder if there's some wider problem across nostr right now... hm.

I'll try again tomorrow!

Well, it seems to all work again now! fevela, jumble, nostr.watch just suddenly started working again.

No problem, looks like I can just copy fevela’s code directly haha.

Well noted nostr:npub16vjln603hfsfhremp627jle4ycm6p23grjjqrm04rrdwupldyfnsjx88a2 nostr:npub19qcnj6qzrhv92pf8tuhd74wcl6c8r2y2mmrp5pknfy3m2lsrd7xs6y7xw2

Are we doing markdown -> ascidoc -> djot all over again?

Unfortunately no because djot is really great.

I am going to wait until next year, when you propose going back to markdown.
