The secret Grotto Garden of Kerdalo is tucked away in a secluded wooded valley on the opposite bank of the Jaudy, just moments away from Tréguier, Finistère, Brittany.

The gardens extend over twenty-five acres with lakes, grottoes, statues.

During his youthful travels in Italy Peter Wolkonsky had discovered gardens characterised among other things by the restful presence of water and by retreats.

It is in this spirit that the interior of the grotto was created.

The marine figures fashioned out of seashells, which decorate its walls, impart an atmosphere of mystery.
