I default to QR Codes when moving #Bitcoin. But seeing the #Binance tweet with a typo in the Bitcoin address on Reddit intrigued me.

Can you actually broadcast a transaction with an invalid address? And if so what happens?

If it has the correct format (prefix and # of digits) I don't think there's any way to catch the mistake. It will be processed and your coins will end up in the void.

If it is not valid, the wallet should alert and not continue with the process 🤔

That makes sense.

The fear is making a typo that actually just happens to be a real address. I wonder what are the chances of that happening.
