I haven’t read his book yet but I’ve just finished a mind bending podcast he done with #[0] and I can understand why it’s confusing people, and why the thesis is probably being heavily rejected by Bitcoiners, Lowery is clearly stating the obvious through the fundamental forces of nature, people probably don’t want to accept the harsh realities of how nature works, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows… and if you cannot understand the connection between War & Money than you should probably take a closer look…
My personal opinion is that Bitcoin can be a weapon defence system which can be backed by the power projection game, but it could also be used to move us towards the ultimate peacemaking machine, so I find both sides of the argument right in a way, Bitcoin is ultimately just a powerful tool to be used, but it’s down to the humans to decide which route is taken.
My critique towards the thesis from what I understand is the emphasis and comparison between humans and the animal kingdom, it’s clearly evident that humans as of now are distinctively different in how we operate, communicate and build, humans in some sense have broken away from the traditional evolutionary model which animals follow, this is through the mysterious advent of language and the dawn of epigenetic evolution, where environmental changes are not through DNA and millions of years of evolution, but through conscious behaviours and responses, because of language we are able to create weird mouth noises and understand one another, language is not just in the form of acoustical pressure waves, but it can also be written and digitised, each carrier of epigenetic evolution can then process and advance the previous platform of knowledge.
Ultimately I believe Bitcoin is an extremely powerful tool, and that it’s down to whether humans can figure out that nature tends to favour cooperation & adaption.
