In the #damus product roadmap we have

1) user lists, and

2) follow hashtag features.

What would be your preference to get first?

They both sound key. But maybe I should start with lists?

Welcome to the future

Personally I’d reverse that order to start with hashtags; which would be a great source to identify relevant users to follow.

👍

To be clear you can search for hashtags on #damus.

For new user discovery try:

#introductions

#grownostr

#plebchain

Thx! And is a great feature. Also use on iris.to

The other ‘intro yourself’ tags don’t usually surface the topics I’d be interested in. Granted, I could do a better job tagging on my own posts.

Interestingly, #BlueSky is explicitly avoiding building hashtags and relying on natural language search at the moment. If you think about what IG posts turned into (a hashtag hellscape), including them does propose a particular user behavior.

Yes search needs to improve, and is on roadmap. Try using nos.today for search.

You can search for the topics you are interested in without hashtags there.

I would start with follow hashtags and them lists.

I prefer lists first, I follow a bunch of people that probably use nostr very little, but when they do, I want to see what they post separate from the feed

Is this a group of friends, or simply a list of people you know?

The latter. I mean, I'd like groups, too, but that's not quite what I'm describing. On Twitter I have a list of infrequent, high signal accounts I don't want to miss. Well, there's also friends who I don't want to miss either.

🤙 what do you think of this

Hmm... Looks neat, but I'm not sure I would use it as much as a list. Maybe if I selected a list, it would also switch relay sets, that might be more useful.

We think NIP-51 (lists) should take priority
