The Russian language has even more letters, even harder to memorize. And the letters ь and ъ don't have a sound.

no, but as far as i remember, they soften/harden the way a letter before it is pronounced

I’m pretty sure stone cold sober I couldn’t pass a field sobriety test. I have seen people drunk in a bar practicing to see if they could do it.

My uncle can pronounce the alphabet as a single word both backwards and forwards. That, and being a massive drunk, are two of his primary skills.
