To be clear, I didn’t say they should go to prison. But I do think they are unsympathetic individuals to people outside of this niche space. If you make money off software you encouraged people to use for crimes, which would also generate revenue for you—whether charged with that crime or not—it’ll be hard for normie folk to give a shit about what the software did or whether the software was good. Politics is about maximizing the use of political capital and I just question where those resources are allocated. It really has nothing to do with the justice or injustice of these two individuals’ situation. If you want to campaign for their freedom I dont begrudge you but Im not convinced it will be a net benefit to the larger goal.
