Ok plebs, bear with me this might be a longer post but I'm confident it will be of interest to fellow nostriches.

I started lurking in nostr in late December 2022 and in early January 2023 I set up my profile and started to integrate. I quickly set myself a goal. I started from zero, that is zero social media presence on other sites and zero sats in my wallets that I was using with nostr. My goal was to earn enough sats to initially buy a domain, through nostr by providing content and by earning sats from heyapollo, bitcoin magazine app and fountain podcasts. At no stage have I "topped up" from any sat savings I have from outside of those sources.I could have reached my goal much earlier but I also used my sats to reward other nostr users with tips etc. I was itching to tell other nostriches what I was doing but I was wary of having some bright spark figure out what domain I might be going for and squatting it b4 I could afford the domain.

My sat balance has hit enough for the intial setup and I now proudly own the domain and will continue with my goal to host a site on a vps server. Ideally I want to host myself but my circumstances mean I can't set that up as I'm not really settled in a home for now. I have also set up a lightning node in voltage cloud, again not my ideal self host on my own hardware, and will be working on integrating it with my website in due time.

What will my site be about? Honestly I don't know but I'm taking each step at a time and will likely devote the site to documenting and showing how we can achieve these goals of self sovereignty no matter how "small potato" we are.

I want to take this opportunity to say to all of you on nostr, all the devs and all of the users. I deeply appreciate what we are all doing here, I am thankful for all of you who sent me sats for the "art" that I posted and I am feel grateful that I am part of this Bitcoin, lightning and nostr revolution.

I sincerely hope that what I have done might give confidence to and inspire anyone who is on nostr. We are in the early days of massive opportunity to take back sovereignty of our internet and our financial life. 😁
