I can't say. In my 20s we used to dress up and go drinking anytime. Especially on St. Nicolaus day (as angels, devils and Nikolaus, 5.12.) and then whole Jan/Feb, that's the carnival season here. In czechia main holiday is 1.11., the day of the dead, and that's a pretty serious and silent one.

Ya, I don't revere my ancestors on halloween, that would not be the moment to get blasted and debauched with friends. I used to attend a halloween party that was held annually here: https://www.grandmidwayhotel.com/#

I wouldn't want to be alone there either even tho I'm not really for the paranormal, but with 100 beatniks, artists and eventual vagrants, it's a blast!
