The older I get, the more I suspect the internet's immediacy gets in the way of understanding.

When language moves faster than thought, how can we hope to get anything right? And if we're not trying to get anything right, what game are we really playing?

Nah, I think it's that most people are not used to an interaction based on understanding and asking questions and otherwise interacting in neutral ways and with unknown people. The people clustered away in small villages also show less understanding or take their (malicious) practices with them instead of understanding how to behave on the internet given a mixture of culture and in presence of many unknowns.
