Of my current children in our home, our four-year-old girl is the oldest. She is not only a ball of energy and extremely smart and beautiful, but she is by far the tallest in her forest/nature school class. Our three- and one-year-old boys are also thriving mightily. All are at -- or beyond -- the 90th percentile in growth and development. None of us eat meat or eggs or dairy. I haven't eaten meat since the Gerald Ford administration.

Many, many plant foods have protein, so that is not a worry. You only need trace amounts of B12, so buying organic and leaving a bit of the dirt on is probably enough -- but we do a small amount of supplementation anyway.
