There seems to be a big difference in the way #Japanese use social media (#twitter and #nostr). High volume of short messages. Often you have to read previous messages to understand context.
Whereas English speakers seem to have fewer messages but much longer, summarizing thoughts around a topic
Japanese Nostr users are just chatting on Nostr, so we use short message mainly.
In addition, the number of Japanese Nostr users is not large and users belong almost exclusively to one community, which means that conversations can take place without replies.
Replies are used a bit more on Twitter, as there are a few more users and followers, but they are used in roughly the same way.

It was a new observation for me! It definitely feels like a different usage type!
Although I can speak Japanese and have been here ~10 years. It’s not trivial to follow the fast conversations. So although I really want to meet Japanese #nostriches and follow the community discussions I found it difficult to keep up with what’s going on because of the volume of messages.
