If you donāt want Apple involved, you could even do it for the relay.. one time fee of 18,500 sats for write access on the relay.

Never liked that model. I think it would be cool if you could buy seasonal flair for your profile, limited edition skins, etc. its how modern games are sustainable and its optional, fun, and not too grifty.
Yeah, I would love a āsponsorā flair that took 18,500 sats a month or whatever the $5 equivalent was at the time. Lichess does this and it works wonderfully.
Who would you buy them from though? Thatās the issue.
Could require a proof of burned coins #bitcoin transaction on-chain to generate skin. Randomness of the tx hash determines the color scheme⦠Haha!
Combine that with the randomness of the block hash the tx was included in if you want to prevent people from gaming it.
You would buy them from damus to help support client dev, what do you mean?
I guess thatās okay too š¤·āāļø
Was just suggesting a decentralized option that doesnāt rely on a central item provider, with gacha game mechanics powered by cryptography.
That way you actually own those special additions to your profile⦠truly unique/rare and not able to be generated by some third party.
CS go skins work like this.
