If you think that God is an entirely separate entity from reality, sure, then yes. However, God dwells in he who follows the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I don't think Jesus was a mystic. I think he was trying to explain to everyone who believed God was some unattainable entity external to reality that no, you are part of the creative process that God uses to provide. Jesus was bringing the good news that we should take responsibilities for ourselves and do so with self-love, love for creation, and love for our fellow man.
There are a lot of ways to interpret a philosopher, and if you don't have the context, you are indeed very likely to completely miss the point. I think that almost every Christian misses the point.
This is of course just my interpretation. I don't believe anyone is an authority on knowledge.
