“Do not think that you are saved if you are a drunken pig day and night. This is a great sin, and everybody should know that this is such a great iniquity, that it makes you guilty and excludes you from eternal life. Everybody should know that such a sin is contrary to his baptism and hinders his faith and his salvation. Therefore, if you wish to be a Christian, take care that you control yourself. If you do not wish to be saved, go ahead and steal, rob, profiteer as long as you can… But if you do want to be saved, then listen to this: just as adultery and idolatry close up heaven, so does gluttony... Therefore be watchful and sober. That is what is preached to us, who want to be Christians... A drunkard is not dissuaded from his drinking by reason any more than a murderer, an adulterer, whoremonger, or usurer...What should move you is that God forbids it on pain of damnation and loss of the kingdom of heaven."

-Martin Luther, Sermon on Soberness and Moderation, 1539

No dude.

I'm no fan of pharma but that lady's take is terribly simplistic, peppered conspiratorial rhetoric for effect. She's exaggerating the harms and minimizing the benefits. Hospitals have problem for sure, but "harmful scam" is too strong.

#GrapheneOS has gone through each of the carrier apps included on each Pixel generation to determine their purpose and consequences of including or excluding them. Here it is being excluded from the new adevtool project for the late ProtonAOSP and GrapheneOS in 2021:

https://github.com/GrapheneOS/adevtool/commit/9c5ac945f#diff-95eb7b50f2781158146e721436d7c5d6f7421755906307a6b7a1f727bb20d53eR109

GrapheneOS has publicly posted about the carrier apps included on Pixels and their privileged permissions on numerous occasions. We talked about the ones which get enabled automatically based on using a SIM from a carrier rather than a disabled demo without an automatic trigger.

Here's a thread from 2017 posted from our project's previous Twitter account which was stolen by Copperhead in 2018:

https://x.com/CopperheadOS/status/903362108053704704

Incredibly important to note that this thread directly involves the CEO of Trail of Bits that's now claiming their iVerify team discovered these apps.

Stock Pixel OS no longer gives the same level of access to the active carrier. This disabled demo app was never a real part of the problem but it was part of the apps we referring to and excluding. We didn't claim credit for discovering this when we became aware of it in 2015.

Dan Guido, CEO of the company behind iVerify, has repeatedly called out charlatans in the infosec industry. It's incredibly hypocritical to use the same tactics and expect not to be held to the same standard. We're not doing anything he hasn't done himself many times before.

It's ridiculous to falsely claim something is a backdoor and then get upset your EDR software remotely monitoring devices and opening up new security holes is called malware. An app running within an increasingly strict sandbox trying to defend devices is an unworkable approach.

Tldr for dummies?

I relied on wbd to get my lyn alden content on a fairly regular basis.

Where am I supposed to go now LA?

Well I just experienced yet another reason why #btc > #gold

Looking to diversify my holdings, I bought a gold bar about a year ago at a local coin shop. Cash transaction, no ID required. "Wow" I thought. "Nice and private that was nice."

Went to the same shop to sell it back. "Ill need your license...and I need to snap your picture and scan your fingerprint." What?!? "Why?" County bill of sale law.

I tried again in nearby, more conservative county: "yup its the law" Which law? "I dunno"

So basically shotgun #KYC'd.

Roach motel.

#robotsats #lightningchannel #tips

If you're planning to do lots of transactions on robosats I have a couple strategies that work out well. You can open a channel directly with the coordinator node you are creating offers with.

Selling Sats:

Open a channel with coordinator node for sats you want to sell. now you can easily send those sats to the buyers in many smaller transactions. Ideal if you have a few million or more sats you want to sell over a period of time. a great way to plan ahead for bull run.

Buying sats:

Open a channel with coordinator node. Check the nodes for channel size minimum requirements. Now keep the sats on your side of the channel. When you are ready to buy, send sats thru Boltz swap to Liquid BTC...amount to send would be what you want to buy + extra 50,000 sats as a cushion. This will open up inbound liquidity in the channel. Now you can create a buy order or take a buy order with the coordinator your channel is set up with and receive sats from the seller to fill that channel back up. Using this strategy, it’s less likely the coordinator will close the channel since sats remain on your side of the channel. As your liquid btc balance builds up, you can peg out to on-chain when fees are low to a sizable utxo.

Interesting read...but NGL the buying sounds a bit complicated..whats the benefit of going though all that? I use the payout to onchain option to receive right to my cold storage, easy-peasy worth the extra 1-1.5% fee.
